CHARACTER ============================================================================= 1. John Clark= Commander of Rainbow Counter-terrorism Team. American. No information available on date or place of birth, education, or military experiance. Since 1970 has worked for American Central Intelligence Agency(CIA). Details of all CIA operations are sealed. Has a wife, Sandra, and two daughters, Maggie and Patricia. 2. John Brightling= Founder and CEO of Horizon Corporation. One of the world's leading experts in recombinant DNA technology. Known in the industry for his unorthodox management style and strong political views. Closely involved with a number of environmental issues. 3. Catherine Winston= Research scientist employed by Horizon Corporation. Early work centered on development of bioengineered "Cocktails" for the treatment of drug-resistant strains of Tubercolosis. Currently, her primary research focus is on isolating the cause of the recent epidemic that has struck the African cattle population. ============================================================================= 3. ORGANIZATION ============================================================================= -Free Europe= British terrorist organization opposed to the integration of The United Kingdom into the European Union. According to the documents recovered by the police, their agenda calls for the deportation of all immigrants of non-European ancestry and a national policy of strict economic and cultural isolationism. -Rainbow= Multinational special-operations taskforce operating under NATO supervision. Rainbow was formed in 1999 to combat the rise of terrorist "Free Agents"following the collapse of the former Soviet Union. Operatives are drawn from the world's leading counter-terrorism organizations. -Horizon Corporation= American biotechnology firm. Horizon manufactures nine products, including the anti-cancer drug Proacteron and the hemezyme line of synthetic antibodies. The company is a participant in the Human Genome Project and the Rainforest 2000 initiative. ============================================================================= 4. MISC ============================================================================= -European Union= The European Union consist of 15 countries: Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, The Netherlands, Portugal, Spain, Sweden and The United Kingdom. It is based on a series of treaties drawn up between the major European powers in the years following World War II. -Hutu Rebels= The Hutus and the Tutsis are two rival central African ethnic groups. Although tension has existed between them for generations, the latest rounds of violence began in 1999 when an epidemic decimated the local cattle population. ============================================================================= 5. MISSION ============================================================================= 5.1. OPERATION:STEEL WIND -BELGIAN EMBASSY, LONDON- -FEBRUARY 7TH- Control= Earlier this evening, armed members of the terrorist organization "Free Europe" seized control of the Belgian embassy in London. Your mission is to retake the embassy with minimal civilian losses. Command= -John Clark= Looks like we've got our first real job. I don't have to tell you that we're going under the microscope on this one. If we blow it the first time out, they may just shut us down. Orders= The Belgian ambassador is hiding in an office on the seccond floor and has so far avoided capture by the terrorist. Other embassy workers may also be trapped inside. Surveillance indicates terrorists on all three floors of the complex. Objectives= 1. Rescue the ambassador. 5.2. OPERATION:COLD THUNDER -THE CONGO- -APRIL 15TH- Control= Hutu rebels have captured a research outpost in the Congo Run by the Horizon Corporation. Your mission is to rescue the American and European scientists without alerting the main body of the rebel force to your presence. Command= -John Clark= Horizon is the darling of the Biotech Industry. I'll let their CEO John Brightling fill you in on their African operation. The leader of their research team is a VIP named Catherine Winston. If you get anyone out, make sure it's her. Orders= The hostages are being held in an abandoned colonial villa. Although a large rebel camp is nearby, observers report that few enemy troops are actually in the building. Objectives= 1. Rescue Dr. Winston Advisor= -John Brightling= We're not in Africa to turn a profit. We're there to see if we can come up with a cure for the epidemic that's been decimating West Africa's cattle population. You have to understand:Horizon doesn't exist to make money. PRIMARY WEAPON -BENELLI Rounds= 8 -CAR Rounds= 30 -M16 Rounds= 30 -MP5, SHORT Rounds= 30 -MP5 Rounds= 30 -MP5, SILENCED Rounds= 30 7.2. SECONDARY WEAPON -BERETTA Rounds= 15 -BERETTA, SILENCED Rounds= 15 -HK40 Rounds= 13 -HK40, SILENCED Rounds= 13 -HK45 Rounds= 12 -HK45, SILENCED Rounds= 12 7.3. ADDITIONAL SLOT -Demolitions Kit= This kit speeds up both the placing and disarming of explosives. It contains basic electrical diagnostic equipment along with the essential mechanical tools needed to perform the job. Extra primer, detcord, and a variety of adhesives complete the kit. -Door Charges= Breaching charges are used to explosively remove doors for rapid entry. Flashbangs do not need to be used in conjunction with a breaching charge as they stun, wound, or even kill anyone nearby. -Electronics Kit= This kit speeds up rewiring controllers for explosives devices, infiltration of computer system, and related electrical and electronic tasks. It contains a high precision multimeter, miniature power supplies, a breadboard, and digital analyzer. A full complements of jumpers, clips, and miscellaneous electrical parts rounds out the kit. -Flashbangs= Capable of stunning observers with a combination bright flash and loud report, flashbangs are commonly tossed into rooms to "prepare" rooms prior to entry. The valueable seconds gained while potential hostiles recover from the stun effects can mean the difference between life and death to a tactical team. Also known as Distraction Device or Stun Grenedes. -Frag Grenades= The M61 Fragmentation Grenade is the standard issue offensive grenade used by infantry throughout the world. While its blast radius is small, an overhand throw is still necessary to safely clear the blast radius in the open. -Heartbeat Sensor= The Heartbeat Sensor is capable of tracking a human heartbeat even through thick layers of concrete. It works by detecting the characteristic ultra-low-frequency electric field given off by a beating heart. The Heartbeat Sensor scans a small sphere around the user. -Lockpick Kit= This kit speeds the picking of locks. Its primary component is a highly sophisticated auto-pick capable of opening most mechanical locks in a few seconds. Electrical keycard or swipe locks are handled using a classified system containing presets for all major keycard variations. -Primary Mags= Extra ammo for primary weapon. -Secondary Mags= Extra ammo for secondary weapon. 7.4. UNIFORM -Urban Breach= This heavy street camo uniform consists of level III body armor extending to the groin. This is the preferred kit of demolitions experts as the faceplate on the kevlar helmet offers excellent protectionfrom flying debris. This uniform is very useful on urban assignment and offers protection against most small arms fire except those from high powered rifles. -Urban Medium= Consisting primarily of a level II waist-length tactical vest and a kevlar helmet capable of stopping high power pistol rounds. This is Rainbow's alternative urban assault gear. It is rounded out with soft-soled rubber boots, nomex balaclava and nomex/kevlar gloves. -Urban Light= This street camo uniform consists of a lightweight level IIA tactical vest, soft-soled rubber boots, nomex balaclava and nomex/kevlar gloves. This uniform is mainly used by recon specialists, it offers more stealth but only protects against low powered pistol fire. -Camo Heavy= This bulky jungle camo uniform is made of level III body armor, camo boots and nomex/kevlar gloves. It is slightly hotter and heavier than the other jungle camo uniforms but has a lot more protection and is capable of stopping most small arms fire except those from the higher powered rifles. Camo Medium= This jungle camo uniform consists of a level II waist-length tactical vest capable of stopping up to 40. caliber pistol rounds and 9mm small arms fire. This is Rainbow's standard jungle gear and also includes jungle boots, nomex balaclava and nomex/kevlar gloves. Usually used in Central, South American and African operations. Camo Light= This uniform is used for jungle operations where high stealth is needed. This jungle camo uniform consists of a lightweight level IIA tactical vest(which will stop some low powered pistol fire), lightweight form fitting jungle boots, nomex balaclava and nomex/kevlar gloves. ============================================================================= 8.
